Member Spotlight: Lynne Marie Pisano

Why is writing important to you and why do you think it’s an important medium for the world? Creativity is an important outlet to remain balanced and to process life and the ever-changing world.

What are your tried and tested remedies to cure writer’s block? Read a book for inspiration, try word-webbing, take a different path with your story, dig deeper, take a break from that story, take a shower or a walk, daydream, make a plot map, take a vacation–there are so many that I can go on and on. The main thing is not to get off the path.

What is your favorite time to write? Anytime I can manage it 🙂 But if I had to pick it would be quiet early mornings.

What’s the best piece of writing advice you’ve ever received and would like to impart to other writers? Read 100 books in your genre before you try your hand at writing one. Richard Peck.

What excites you most about being a writer in today’s age? That I love my work and get to work and create and process all in the same time span.

Lynne Marie Pisano’s The Three Little Pigs and the Rocket Project, illustrated by Wendy Fedan, is out now with Mac and Cheese Press.
