Why is writing important to you and why do you think it’s an important medium for the world? I write historical fiction and I focus on strong women in historic eras and/or situations. I think it’s important to bring these women, even though they’re fictional, and their struggles to the public’s attention since their role in history is often overlooked

What are your tried and tested remedies to cure writer’s block? I usually have so much material to cover after months and months of research that I don’t have a problem with writer’s block.

What is your favorite time to write? I prefer mornings, but seem to be writing more in the afternoons and devoting mornings to marketing right now. I hope to go back to my old routine once my book releases on Sept 6. Although there will still be a lot of marketing still to do.

What’s the best piece of writing advice you’ve ever received and would like to impart to other writers? To keep writing even after you’ve written The End. That’s the time to start the next project. By following that precept, I keep moving on and don’t let myself get stale.

What excites you most about being a writer in today’s age? The ability to write on almost any subject and find people who are open-minded enough to listen and want to hear more.
