Member Spotlight: Camilla Trinchieri

Why is writing important to you and why do you think it’s an important medium for the world? Reading opens the mind, brings you to a world of which you know little or nothing. The thoughts expressed by the author or the author’s characters can make you reflect on your own. I love to write because I discover characters and stories as I go along. I only have a general idea when I start. Every day I discover something new.

What are your tried and tested remedies to cure writer’s block? Reading! Reading! I get excited by someone’s beautiful writing and or story and I’m spurned to hit those keys again.

What is your favorite time to write? Right after lunch, after I’ve gotten rid of duties in the morning.

What’s the best piece of writing advice you’ve ever received and would like to impart to other writers? After you’ve finished your final draft, take at least two weeks off, then read your draft OUT LOUD. It’s the best way to find clunkers, bad flow, the over written

What excites you most about being a writer in today’s age? The ability to create a story would excite me in any age, but in today’s age the ability to reach more people thanks to ebooks and audible.
