On May 11, Mary Rasenberger sat down at BookExpo America with BookTV’s Peter Slen for a wide-ranging interview. Rasenberger spoke frankly about the Guild’s mission in today’s publishing environment, the effects of digital distribution on authors’ earnings, the future of reading, and copyright reform. “What we’re trying to do is ensure that authors can make a living today,” she said, summing up the Guild’s work. “If creators can’t afford to keep creating, they won’t.”
