On Wednesday February 5, the Copyright Office hosted an event with the World Intellectual Property Organization titled “Copyright in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”; on Tuesday, February 11th, the Senate Judiciary IP Subcommittee will hold a hearing entitled: “The Digital Millennium Copyright Act at 22: What is it, why was it enacted, and where we are now”; on March 24, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in Google v. Oracle and will review the Federal Circuit’s decision that Google’s use of Java shortcuts to develop Android violated Oracle’s copyright and did not constitute “fair use”.
