The Hurston/Wright Foundation Legacy Award is open to Black writers in the U.S. and across the globe. The contest is open to full-length works of debut fiction, fiction, nonfiction, and poetry as well as collections of short stories. Books must be submitted by publishing companies; however, self-published authors may submit their own books. Books that have only been published in ebook format are not eligible.
