Objectors to the freelance class action settlement appealed the District Court's order approving the settlement on October 21, 2005. The appeal process will take nine months or longer as the parties file briefs, argue the appeal, and await the decision of the Court of Appeals.
If the appeal fails, then the settlement will be final, and claims can be paid. If the appeal is successful, then litigation proceedings would resume in the trial court.
